VECTOR ART

A podcast fan art I'd made for Box Box F1 Podcast. I didn't expect it, but they actually talked about it on their podcast. It's around at 6:30 mark on their QATAR GP PREVIEW 2021. But if you couldn't listen to their pod. I'll explain below my thought process behind this cover art. Also there's a video at the end, you could watch that too.
During that time this is what their cover look like. That's the starting point to this cover art. I've wanted for it to still resemble their actual cover. That's where the 2 boxes, 2 headphones on both of those boxes and 2 microphones for each of the box idea came from.
Then instead of the Flag on a Flag pole -like the ones on their actual cover art. I decided to add a waving chequered flag -the ones you see at the end of the race like an F1 race. And have the boxes sit on top of it.

Then I decided to record their intro, import it on audacity to get the soundwave. Then I added the soundwave as the background.
Here's a video I made using the audio of them explaining the cover art.
"TAI VERDES AOK"
This vector art is a fan art for Tai Verdes. Inspired by his hit song "A-O-K" - with the lines, "Livin' in this big blue world with my head in the outer space..."

A little peak at how I did this. Here's what I started with. I draw what I had in mind with the lyrics from his song as the main inspiration. You can clearly see that there's not really that much that has changed from the sketch to the final output.
There are notes on the sketch with the words, "Big Head" & "Galaxy BG".
Big Head - I wanted the character to have a caricature feel to it. The head being exaggerated was inspired by the part of the lyrics where he said "...with my head from the outer space". I wanted the head to be really evident and to really be "out there".
"Galaxy BG" - Galaxy aka the outers pace as the Background, again I really took what I can see when I listen to the lyrics.
And that's just about enough to get me to start making it in Illustrator.

"INIKO - The King's Affirmation"
Made this vector art inspired by INIKO's song "The King's Affirmation". Here's a video of How I made it in Illustrator.

The Idea behind the design came from her recent instagram posts that time.
This one as the foreground to this cover art. Just a very nice picture of her posing infront of a wall.
The idea for the background came from this reel that she posted where she used an effect/filter on tiktok where it made it look like she was taken by a UFO.
Then I added the Icon from the "The King's Affirmation " actual cover. Just behind the UFO/Spaceship.

Series of Illustrator/Vector artwork inspired by what's trending in the pop culture scene in a 90's comic book covers style.

There had been 6 candid comic covers that I've made so far. All have been made using Illustrator.

1. LIL NAS X - INDUSTRY BABY

The first ever art cover on Candid Comics. This basically started it all for Candid Comics. Around the time that I've decided to make this, LIL NAS X's Music Video for Industry Baby with Jack Harlow came out. Besides from liking the song I love the music video too! And I Instantly just wanted to do something for it like a cover. The music video actually inspired me. This was really fun to make. As a bonus LIL NAS X actually liked it too!

If you've seen the Music Video you may be familiar with both of these illustrations. These are scenes from the music video.
2. DOJA CAT - NEED TO KNOW

Hyped from the first cover I've made, I've made another music related one. This time it's a cover for Doja Cat's Need to Know Music Video. I just kept going, the inspiration was pretty much the same with Industry Baby--- the music and the music video. Although this is the third vector art that I've made it was hard at first but I've enjoyed it throughout the time the I'm making it that it felt pretty easy.

3. ALEX COOPER'S CALL HER DADDY

This one was a vector art I've made inspired by Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy Podcast Cover. At that time, this is probably the most tiring cover art I've made. Took a lot of time to finish it, spent a lot of time with the detail on the hair, I tried to put as much detail as possible on her hair. .

First time giving the hair that much detail where my hand almost gave up but I enjoyed it regardless.
